Welcome to Kindraising, I’m so happy that you’re here!

You might be wondering what Kindraising means. The idea for this came about in June when I participated Just Give – a weeklong campaign of the Michael Pinball Clemons Foundation to get people motivated to give. It was not about giving money – it was about giving kindness. The day that I joined Pinball and his team we were part of a flash mob of kindness at Union Station in Toronto, holding doors open and giving high-fives to commuters on a Monday morning. The idea was that if someone’s day started with receiving a random act of kindness, they would pay it forward throughout the day. A small action that made one person’s day, would go on to make someone else’s day too.

I believe that we all have something to give and that creating change, isn’t always about fundraising and that giving a little kindness goes a long way. We need to raise more kindness, compassion and empathy to replace hate, indifference and apathy. That is KINDRAISING.

Kindraising is all about acts of kindness – random, planned or organized. Kindraising is all not about me – it’s about everyone – because that is what it’s going to take to create the culture shift that we need. I created this site to share the stories, experiences and ides of people that have given, received or witnessed kindness – the actions that have changed someone’s mood, day or circumstance.

There are thousands of us out there Kindraising every day. This site will collect those stories, actions and inspiration. I hope that you’ll share a story of kindness in action – it can be something that you’ve done, something that someone has done for you or it could be an opportunity for you to shine a light on someone you know that is a Kindraiser.

Let’s do this – together.

Kindly,

Hannah Alper
